Pistons are made using gravity casting or hydraulic forging and then heat treated. Machining is done with the latest CNC machines and diamond tools, achieving specific surface finishes. Every Vertex piston undergoes rigorous quality control. Vertex pistons feature a Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction. A new Phosphate Coating offers increased hardness, light surface porosity, and superior adhesion qualities, doubling coating durability. This is a Grade A 48.44mm single ring race piston.
