YAMAHA YZ 85 2002 - 2022 GRADE B 47.45mm SINGLE RING PISTON
Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminium alloys charged with 12% 18% or 21% silicon depending on the application. Pistons are manufactured using gravity cast or hydraulic forging processes for blank parts. The material structure is refined using heat treatment in an automatic HT implant with solubilization by quench in hot water. Machining is completed using CNC machines and software with diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Every Vertex piston undergoes manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons are coated with a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating to aid break-in and reduce friction. A new Phosphate Coating has been introduced which has a slight hardness increase combined with light surface porosity exhibiting superior adhesion qualities of the Molybdenum Coating, extending coating durability.
