Pistons are manufactured using gravity cast or hydraulic forging processes for blank parts. The material structure is refined using heat treatment in an automatic HT implant with solubilization by quench in hot water. Machining is completed using CNC machines and software with diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Every Vertex piston undergoes manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons are coated with a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating to aid break-in and reduce friction. A new Phosphate Coating has been introduced which has a slight hardness increase combined with light surface porosity exhibiting superior adhesion qualities of the Molybdenum Coating, extending coating durability. Manufactured using advanced aluminum alloys with high silicon content, this piston is designed to withstand the rigorous demands of high-performance engine environments while maintaining excellent structural integrity.\n\n### Key Features and Engineering\n\n \n- Advanced Alloy Composition: Constructed from exotic Low-Ex (low expansion) silicon-charged aluminum alloys to ensure consistent performance under varying temperatures.\n \n- Precision Manufacturing: Produced using either gravity cast or hydraulic forging processes, followed by a sophisticated heat treatment cycle for enhanced material refinement.\n \n- CNC Machined: Every piston is finished using state-of-the-art CNC machinery and diamond-tipped tooling to achieve the exact surface specifications required for high-performance applications.\n \n- Enhanced Surface Coatings: Features a Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating to assist in the break-in process and minimize internal cylinder friction.\n \n- Phosphate Coating Technology: Inspired by Formula One development, the piston incorporates an all-over phosphate coating. This creates a surface with superior adhesion and increased durability, effectively doubling the life of the Molybdenum coating.\n \n- Quality Assured: Undergoes rigorous manual and automated quality control inspections to ensure every component meets the highest manufacturing standards.\n\nWhether you are performing a standard top-end rebuild or seeking a reliable replacement for your competition engine, Vertex pistons offer the professional-grade quality and endurance needed to keep your engine running at peak efficiency.","weightGrams":null,"fitments":[],"collections":[],"links":{"page":"https://www.2brosparts.com/products/yamaha-yz-85-2002-2022-grade-b-4745mm-single-ring-piston","buyOneNow":"https://www.2brosparts.com/api/agent/checkout/GB/ec1dcc0cf63a:1","basketWithThis":"https://www.2brosparts.com/api/agent/basket/GB/ec1dcc0cf63a:1"}},"market":{"country":"GB","countryName":"United Kingdom","locale":"en-gb","currency":"GBP","exchangeRateFromGbp":1,"pricesIncludeUkVat":true,"checkoutTax":null,"delivery":[{"name":"Standard","description":"Orders £15.00–£59.99 · 2–4 business days","carrier":null,"estimatedDays":"2–4 business days","price":{"amount":4.99,"formatted":"£4.99"},"free":false,"minimumOrder":{"amount":0,"formatted":"£0.00","gbp":0},"weightGrams":null},{"name":"Standard","description":"Orders £60.00 and up · 2–4 business days","carrier":null,"estimatedDays":"2–4 business days","price":{"amount":0,"formatted":"£0.00"},"free":true,"minimumOrder":{"amount":60,"formatted":"£60.00","gbp":60},"weightGrams":null}],"storeUrl":"https://www.2brosparts.com"},"navigate":{"start":"https://www.2brosparts.com/api/agent","search":"https://www.2brosparts.com/api/agent/search/GB/{words+joined+with+plus}"},"howToBuy":{"summary":"Build a basket for the shopper and give them one checkout link.
