OE spacers typically wear out within a year of hard riding and should be checked and replaced with every bearing service. Water and dirt act as grinding compounds between the seal face and the spacer surface, compromising the sealing surface and allowing water and dirt to pass through and contaminate the bearing. All Balls aluminum spacers feature a hardened steel shell pressed over the aluminum for a superior wear surface. Manufactured using 52100 bearing steel that is through-hardened, precision ground, and plated for years of reliable service.
