Advanced design uses strategically located side scalloping and vent slots to minimize high rpm bearing race distortion. Rods are shot-peened and double-honed for superior strength under heavy loads. Small ends are double drilled to supply extra lubrication and cooling to the wrist pin bearing. Thrust washers and crank pin bearings are silver-coated for added lubricity.
