Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminium alloys with 12%, 18% or 21% silicon depending on the application. They are produced using gravity cast or hydraulic forging, followed by heat treatment in an automatic HT implant with solubilization by quench in hot water. Machining is performed on the latest CNC machines with diamond tools, allowing for specific surface finishes. Every Vertex piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons are coated with Molybdenum Bisulphite for break-in and friction reduction. A newer Phosphate Coating offers increased hardness, surface porosity, and superior Molybdenum Coating adhesion, doubling coating durability.
