Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminium alloys with 12%, 18%, or 21% silicon content depending on the application. They are produced using gravity casting or hydraulic forging, followed by a high-tech heat treatment process in an automatic HT implant with solubilization by quenching in hot water. Machining is performed using the latest CNC machines and software with diamond tools, achieving specific surface finishes for the intended application. Every Vertex piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons feature a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction. A new Phosphate Coating, developed following Formula One engine advancements, offers increased hardness, light surface porosity, and superior adhesion and durability of the Molybdenum Coating. This piston is 43.45mm with a single ring.
