Vertex pistons are made from Low-Ex aluminum alloys with 12%, 18%, or 21% silicon, depending on the intended use. They are manufactured using gravity casting or hydraulic forging, followed by a heat treatment process in an automatic HT implant with hot water quenching. Machining is done with the latest CNC machines and diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Each piston undergoes a thorough quality control process. Vertex pistons feature a Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction. A new Phosphate Coating, inspired by Formula One engines, offers increased hardness, light surface porosity, and superior adhesion and durability compared to the Molybdenum Coating. This piston is 43.47mm with a single ring.
