Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex silicon aluminum alloys with 12%, 18%, or 21% silicon content depending on the application. They are made using gravity casting or hydraulic forging, followed by heat treatment in an automatic implant with solubilization by hot water quench. Machining is performed with the latest CNC machines, software, and diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Each piston undergoes manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons feature a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction. A new phosphate coating, developed following Formula One engine advancements, offers increased hardness, light surface porosity, and superior adhesion and durability for the molybdenum coating. This piston has a 66.35mm bore diameter.
