They are produced using gravity casting or hydraulic forging, followed by a high-tech heat treatment process. Machining is performed on the latest CNC machines with diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Every Vertex piston undergoes rigorous quality control. Vertex pistons feature a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and reduced friction. A new all-over Phosphate Coating, following Formula One engine developments, offers increased hardness, light surface porosity, and superior adhesion qualities for extended coating durability. This piston is oversize +0.50mm with a 68.45mm diameter and features a twin ring design.
