YAMAHA YZ 125 2002-2004 +2.00mm OVERSIZE 54.45mm SINGLE RING PISTON
Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex (low expansion) Silicon aluminium alloys with 12%, 18%, or 21% silicon content depending on the application. Pistons are manufactured using either gravity cast or hydraulic forging processes. The material structure is refined using a hi-tech Heat Treatment process completed in an automatic HT implant with solubilization by quench in hot water. The machining process is completed using the latest CNC machines and software with diamond tools, achieving specific surface finishes depending on the final application. Every Vertex piston undergoes a rigorous manual and automatic quality control process. Vertex pistons are coated with a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating to aid during piston break-in and reduce friction inside the cylinder. Vertex has also introduced a new, all-over Phosphate Coating which has a slight hardness increase combined with a light surface porosity that exhibits superior adhesion qualities of the Molybdenum Coating, extending coating durability. This is a +2.00mm oversize 54.45mm single ring piston.
