YAMAHA BLASTER 200 1988 - 2006 GRADE D 65.75mm
Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex (low expansion) Silicon aluminium alloys with 12%, 18% or 21% silicon content depending on the application. Pistons are manufactured using gravity cast or hydraulic forging processes and then heat treated using a hi-tech automatic HT implant with solubilization by quench in hot water. This heat treatment process is cutting edge technology for these aluminium alloys. Machining is completed using the latest CNC machines and software, as well as diamond tools, to achieve specific surface finishes depending on the final application. Every Vertex piston undergoes a rigorous manual and automatic quality control process. Vertex pistons are coated with a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating to aid during piston break in and reduce friction inside the cylinder. Vertex has also introduced a new Phosphate Coating which has a slight hardness increase combined with light surface porosity that exhibits superior adhesion qualities to the Molybdenum Coating, extending coating durability. This piston is grade D with a 65.75mm diameter.
