Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminium alloys with 12%, 18%, or 21% silicon content. Blanks are created via gravity cast or hydraulic forging, then refined through a hi-tech heat treatment process in an automatic implant with hot water solubilization. Machining is performed using the latest CNC machines, software, and diamond tools, achieving specific surface finishes. Every Vertex piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. Pistons are coated with a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction. A new Phosphate Coating, developed following Formula One engine advancements, offers increased hardness, light surface porosity, superior Molybdenum Coating adhesion, and double the coating durability. This piston is 65.95mm in diameter.
