OE spacers typically wear out within a year of hard riding and should be checked and replaced as needed during every bearing service. Water and dirt act as grinding compounds between the seal face and the spacer’s surface, compromising the sealing surface and allowing contaminants to pass through and contaminate the bearing. All Balls aluminum spacers feature a hardened steel shell pressed over the aluminum, providing a superior wear surface. Manufactured with 52100 bearing steel that is through-hardened, precision ground, and plated for long-lasting service. Helps prevent water and dirt from grinding between wheel bearing seals and soft OEM aluminum spacers.
