Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminium alloys with 12%, 18%, or 21% silicon content depending on the application. They are made using gravity casting or hydraulic forging, followed by a heat treatment process in an automatic HT implant with solubilization by quench in hot water. Machining is performed on the latest CNC machines with diamond tools, allowing for specific surface finishes based on the piston's final use. Every Vertex piston undergoes manual and automatic quality control. Pistons are coated with a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction. A new Phosphate Coating is also available, offering increased hardness and surface porosity for superior adhesion and durability compared to the Molybdenum Coating. This piston is Grade B and has a size of 44.45mm with twin rings.
