Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminium alloys with 12%, 18%, or 21% silicon content. They are made using gravity casting or hydraulic forging, followed by heat treatment in an automatic HT implant with solubilization by quench in hot water. Machining is completed using CNC machines and diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Every Vertex piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons are coated with Molybdenum Bisulphite for break-in and friction reduction. A new Phosphate Coating offers increased hardness and surface porosity for superior adhesion and durability. This single ring piston has a bore of 53.95mm and is Grade A.
