Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminium alloys with 12% 18% or 21% silicon depending on the application. Pistons are made using gravity cast or hydraulic forging processes, with material structure refined through heat treatment. Machining is completed using the latest CNC machines and diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Every Vertex piston undergoes rigorous quality control. Vertex pistons are coated with a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating to aid break-in and reduce friction. A new Phosphate Coating offers increased hardness and light surface porosity, enhancing Molybdenum Coating adhesion and durability. This piston features a dome top and 2mm ring.
