KTM SX / GS 250 1990-1994 GRADE D 67.47mm TWIN RING PISTON
Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminium alloys with 12%, 18%, or 21% silicon depending on the application. Pistons are manufactured using gravity casting or hydraulic forging, with material structure refined through a hi-tech Heat Treatment process in an automatic HT implant with solubilization by quench in hot water. Machining is completed using CNC machines and software with diamond tools, achieving specific surface finishes. Every Vertex piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons are coated with a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction. A new Phosphate Coating offers increased hardness and surface porosity for superior adhesion and durability of the Molybdenum Coating. This is a twin ring piston with a 67.47mm bore size.
