KTM SX 300I (FUEL INJECTED) 2018-2023 GRADE A 71.925mm TWIN RING PISTON
Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminium alloys with 12%, 18% or 21% silicon, depending on the application. Pistons are produced using gravity casting or hydraulic forging, followed by a hi-tech heat treatment process involving solubilization by quench in hot water. Machining is performed using the latest CNC machines and diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Each Vertex piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. Pistons are coated with a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction. A new Phosphate Coating, developed from Formula One engine technology, offers increased hardness, light surface porosity, and superior adhesion for extended coating durability. This is a twin ring piston with a diameter of 71.925mm.
