KTM SX 105 2004-2017 GRADE A 51.95mm
Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminium alloys with 12%, 18% or 21% silicon, depending on the application. Pistons are made using gravity casting or hydraulic forging, with material structure refined by heat treatment in an automatic HT implant with solubilization by quench in hot water. Machining is completed using CNC machines and software with diamond tools for specific surface finishes. Every Vertex piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons are coated with a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction. A new Phosphate Coating has been introduced, offering increased hardness and light surface porosity for superior adhesion and double the coating durability. This piston has a bore of 51.95mm.
