Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminium alloys with 12%, 18%, or 21% silicon, produced via gravity cast or hydraulic forging. Material structure is refined through a hi-tech heat treatment process. Machining is completed using the latest CNC machines and diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Every Vertex piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons are coated with a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating to aid break-in and reduce friction. Vertex also offers a new Phosphate Coating for increased hardness, light surface porosity, and superior adhesion and durability of the Molybdenum Coating. This piston is GRADE A and has a 63.94mm bore size.
