Pistons are made using gravity cast or hydraulic forging processes and refined with a hi-tech heat treatment. Machining is done on the latest CNC machines using diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Every Vertex piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons are coated with a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction. Vertex has introduced a new Phosphate Coating for increased hardness, light surface porosity, and superior adhesion and durability. This piston is GRADE C, has a 95.98mm standard bore diameter, and a 13.2:1 compression ratio.
