They are produced using gravity cast or hydraulic forging processes, with material structure refined through a hi-tech heat treatment. Machining is completed using the latest CNC machines and diamond tools, achieving specific surface finishes. Every Vertex piston undergoes rigorous quality control. Vertex pistons are coated with a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction. A new, all-over Phosphate Coating is also available, offering increased hardness, light surface porosity, and superior adhesion qualities, doubling the coating durability. This piston is 76.95mm with a 14.3:1 compression ratio.
