Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex (low expansion) Silicon aluminium alloys. The pistons are produced using gravity casting or hydraulic forging processes, followed by a high-tech Heat Treatment in an automatic HT implant with solubilization by quench in hot water. Machining is completed using the latest CNC machines, software, and diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Every Vertex piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons are coated with a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction. A new, all over Phosphate Coating provides increased hardness, light surface porosity, and superior adhesion of the Molybdenum Coating, extending its durability. This piston has a 76.95mm bore and a 12.6:1 compression ratio.
