Twin ring piston, 44.46mm bore size, Grade C. Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminium alloys with 12%, 18%, or 21% silicon content depending on the application. The manufacturing process involves gravity casting or hydraulic forging, followed by a heat treatment process in an automatic HT implant with solubilization by quench in hot water. Machining is completed using CNC machines and diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. All Vertex pistons undergo rigorous manual and automatic quality control. Pistons are coated with a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction. A new Phosphate Coating, developed from Formula One engine technology, offers increased hardness, light surface porosity, and superior adhesion qualities for extended coating durability.

Every Vertex piston is machined using high precision CNC equipment and diamond tooling, allowing for application specific surface finishes that optimize performance. To minimize friction and facilitate a smoother break in period, these pistons feature a specialized Molybdenum Bisulphite coating. This is further enhanced by an innovative phosphate coating that increases surface hardness and improves the adhesion of the Molybdenum layer, effectively doubling the durability of the protective finish.
