Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminium alloys with 12%, 18%, or 21% silicon content depending on the application. Pistons are produced using gravity casting or hydraulic forging, followed by heat treatment in an automatic HT implant with solubilization by quenching in hot water. Machining is performed using CNC machines and diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Each Vertex piston undergoes manual and automatic quality control. Pistons are coated with a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction. A new Phosphate Coating is also available, offering increased hardness, light surface porosity, and superior adhesion of the Molybdenum Coating for enhanced durability.
