Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminum alloys with 12%, 18%, or 21% silicon content. Pistons are made using gravity casting or hydraulic forging, followed by heat treatment. Machining is completed using CNC machines with diamond tools. Each piston undergoes manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons have a Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction, and a Phosphate Coating for increased hardness and durability. This is an oversize piston measuring 67.95mm.
