Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminium alloys with 12%, 18%, or 21% silicon, depending on the application. The pistons are produced using gravity cast or hydraulic forging and then refined through a high-tech heat treatment process. Machining is completed using the latest CNC machines and diamond tools, achieving specific surface finishes for the piston's application. Every Vertex piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons are coated with Molybdenum Bisulphite for break-in and reduced friction. A new Phosphate Coating, developed from Formula One engine technology, offers increased hardness, surface porosity for superior adhesion, and durability twice as long as the Molybdenum Coating. This piston is 53.98mm.
