Pistons are made using gravity cast or hydraulic forging and refined through heat treatment in an automatic HT implant with solubilization by quench in hot water. Machining is performed using CNC machines and diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Every Vertex piston undergoes manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons are coated with a black Molybdenum Bisulphite coating to aid break-in and reduce friction. Vertex also offers a Phosphate Coating for increased hardness, light surface porosity, and superior adhesion of the Molybdenum Coating, doubling its durability.
