KAWASAKI KX 100 1998 - 2013 GRADE A 52.44mm TWIN RING REPLICA PISTON
Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminum alloys with 12%, 18%, or 21% silicon content depending on the application. They are produced using gravity casting or hydraulic forging and refined with a heat treatment process involving solubilization by quench in hot water. Machining is done on CNC machines with diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Each piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons feature a Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction, and a new Phosphate Coating for increased hardness, surface porosity, and enhanced Molybdenum Coating adhesion, doubling coating durability. This piston is 52.44mm and includes twin rings.

FULL DESCRIPTION
Vertex Replica Piston 52.44mm Twin Ring
The Vertex Replica Piston is engineered to meet the demanding requirements of high performance engines. Designed with precision and durability in mind, this twin ring piston provides an ideal solution for engine rebuilds, ensuring reliable power delivery and consistent performance.
Advanced Manufacturing and Material Quality
Vertex utilizes exotic Low-Ex (low expansion) silicon alloys, with silicon content ranging from 12% to 21% depending on the specific application. These pistons are produced using either gravity casting or hydraulic forging processes to ensure structural integrity. Each component undergoes a specialized heat treatment process in an automatic HT implant, utilizing hot water quenching to refine the material structure for maximum strength.
Precision Machining and Coating Technology
Every piston is machined on state of the art CNC equipment using diamond tools to achieve exacting tolerances and surface finishes tailored for high performance operation. To optimize functionality and longevity, these pistons feature a multi-layer coating system:
- Molybdenum Bisulphite Coating: A specialized black coating that assists during the initial piston break in period and significantly reduces friction within the cylinder.
- Phosphate Coating: Borrowed from Formula One engine technology, this all over coating provides a slight increase in surface hardness and light porosity. This improves the adhesion of the Molybdenum coating, effectively doubling its durability.
