Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminium alloys with 12%, 18%, or 21% silicon content. They are produced using gravity casting or hydraulic forging, followed by heat treatment in an automatic implant with solubilization by quench in hot water. Machining is performed using CNC machines and diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Every piston undergoes manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons are coated with a black Molybdenum Bisulphite coating for break-in and friction reduction. A new Phosphate Coating is also available, offering increased hardness, light surface porosity, and superior adhesion and durability compared to the Molybdenum Coating. This piston is 53.94mm.

Vertex utilizes exotic Low-Ex (low expansion) silicon-charged aluminium alloys, with silicon content ranging from 12% to 21% depending on the specific application. These pistons are crafted using either gravity cast or hydraulic forging methods, followed by a sophisticated heat treatment process that includes solubilization and a hot water quench to refine the material structure for maximum durability.

Every piston is precision-machined using state-of-the-art CNC technology and diamond tooling to achieve exact surface finishes. To ensure longevity and performance, these pistons feature a specialized Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating, which reduces friction and assists during the initial break-in period. This is further enhanced by an advanced Phosphate Coating, which improves hardness and provides superior adhesion for the Molybdenum layer, effectively doubling the durability of the protective coating.
