Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex Silicon charged aluminium alloys. Gravity cast or hydraulic forging processes are used for blank parts, followed by heat treatment using an automatic HT implant with solubilization by quench in hot water. Machining is completed using the latest CNC machines and software, and diamond tools. Every Vertex piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons are coated with a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating to aid in break-in and reduce friction. A new, all over, Phosphate Coating has been introduced which offers increased hardness, light surface porosity, and superior adhesion qualities of the Molybdenum Coating, doubling the coating durability. This is a Grade B, 45.95mm single ring replica piston.
