Gas Gas MC 50 2021-2023 Grade C/D 39.47mm
Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminium alloys with 12%, 18% or 21% silicon depending on the application. Pistons are made using gravity casting or hydraulic forging, then refined through a hi-tech heat treatment in an automatic HT implant with solubilization by quench in hot water. This heat treating process is cutting-edge technology for these aluminium alloys. Machining is completed using the latest CNC machines, software, and diamond tools, achieving specific surface finishes for each application. Every Vertex piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons are coated with a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction. Vertex has also introduced a new Phosphate Coating, which has increased hardness and light surface porosity, exhibiting superior adhesion qualities of the Molybdenum Coating and doubling its durability.
