This high compression piston kit is designed for Athena Big Bore cylinders and features piston rings that guarantee less friction with the cylinder for higher performance. The piston is made from a special high-performance aluminum alloy with high silicon content for reliability, resistance, and excellent performance. Some piston skirts are treated with a molybdenum disulfide coating to reduce friction and enhance performance and durability. The piston rings are produced in Japan with wear-resistant coatings (PVD or chromium nitride) to increase retention and durability. This kit contains the piston, pin, circlips, and piston rings. Elevate your motorcycle's performance with this Athena Forged Racing Piston Kit. Designed for big bore applications, this kit is crafted from a special high-performance aluminum alloy with a high silicon content, ensuring both exceptional reliability and increased resistance compared to OE pistons.
Athena's pistons are manufactured using cutting-edge CNC machining tools, guaranteeing dimensional tolerances of less than 0.01 mm. The advanced design features a perfectly smooth profile for optimal airflow and efficient flame propagation. Some applications may include a molybdenum disulfide coating on the piston skirts, applied via screen printing, to further reduce friction and enhance performance and durability.
Engineered in Italy by Athena's R&D department, each piston undergoes rigorous testing on engine dynamometer benches and on the track to validate its performance under extreme conditions. This high-compression piston is specifically designed for Athena Big Bore cylinder kits and features piston rings that minimize friction with the cylinder wall, leading to higher performance. The piston rings themselves are produced in Japan with wear-resistant coatings, such as PVD or chromium nitride, for increased lifespan and durability. These rings are designed to perfectly adapt to the cylinder liner even under low tangential load.
