Pistons are made using gravity cast or hydraulic forging, followed by a heat treatment process involving solubilization by quench in hot water. Machining is performed using CNC machines and diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Each piston undergoes manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons feature a Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction, and a new Phosphate Coating that increases hardness, surface porosity, and adhesion for improved durability.
