Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminium alloys with 12%, 18% or 21% silicon content. They are made using gravity casting or hydraulic forging and refined with a hi-tech heat treatment process. Machining is completed using CNC machines and diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Every piston undergoes rigorous quality control. Vertex pistons are coated with Molybdenum Bisulphite for break-in and friction reduction. A new Phosphate Coating offers increased hardness and porosity for superior Molybdenum Coating adhesion and durability. This piston is GRADE C, 66.35mm, with twin rings.

Vertex Grade C Twin Ring Piston 66.35mm
The Vertex Grade C Twin Ring Piston is engineered for high performance and reliability. Manufactured using advanced Low-Ex silicon-charged aluminium alloys, these pistons are designed to maintain structural integrity under extreme engine conditions. Whether utilizing gravity casting or hydraulic forging, each piston undergoes a sophisticated heat treatment process in an automatic HT implant to refine the material structure for maximum durability.
Precision is at the heart of the Vertex manufacturing process. Each piston is machined on state of the art CNC equipment utilizing diamond tooling to achieve exact surface finishes tailored to the application. To further enhance performance and longevity, these pistons feature a specialized Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating which assists during the break in period and reduces internal cylinder friction.
Vertex has further improved their design by incorporating an advanced Phosphate Coating. Inspired by Formula One engine technology, this coating provides a slight increase in hardness and a unique surface porosity. This ensures superior adhesion of the Molybdenum coating, resulting in significantly extended durability for the piston surface.
