Vertex pistons are made from Low-Ex silicon aluminum alloys with 12%, 18%, or 21% silicon content depending on the application. They are manufactured using gravity casting or hydraulic forging, followed by a high-tech heat treatment process. Machining is performed using the latest CNC machines and diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Each piston undergoes rigorous quality control. Vertex pistons feature a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction, and a new Phosphate Coating for increased hardness, light surface porosity, and enhanced Molybdenum Coating adhesion, doubling coating durability. This is a twin ring piston with a 53.94mm bore size.
