They are made using gravity cast or hydraulic forging processes, then refined with a heat treatment. Machining is completed using CNC machines and diamond tools, achieving specific surface finishes. Each Vertex piston undergoes rigorous quality control. Vertex pistons are coated with a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction. A new Phosphate Coating, following Formula One engine developments, offers increased hardness and porosity for superior adhesion and durability. This piston is 47.95mm with a single ring.
