Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminum alloys with 12%, 18% or 21% silicon, depending on the application. They are made using gravity cast or hydraulic forging processes. The material structure is refined using a heat treatment process in an automatic HT implant with solubilization by quench in hot water. Machining is completed using the latest CNC machines and software with diamond tools. Every Vertex piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons are coated with a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating to aid in piston break-in and reduce friction. A new Phosphate Coating is also available, offering increased hardness and light surface porosity for superior adhesion of the Molybdenum Coating, extending durability. This piston has a diameter of 46.45mm and is 75cc with a single ring.
