Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminum alloys with 12%, 18% or 21% silicon. Pistons are made using gravity cast or hydraulic forging processes, then refined with a high-tech heat treatment. Machining is completed using the latest CNC machines and diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Every Vertex piston undergoes rigorous quality control. Vertex pistons are coated with Molybdenum Bisulphite for break-in and friction reduction. A new Phosphate Coating is also available, offering increased hardness, light surface porosity, and superior adhesion of the Molybdenum Coating, doubling the coating's durability. This is a single ring, grade A piston with a 66.34mm bore.

Vertex Grade A Single Ring Piston

The Vertex Grade A single ring piston is engineered to meet the demanding requirements of high performance engines. Manufactured using advanced Low-Ex silicon aluminum alloys, this piston provides exceptional structural integrity and thermal resistance. Vertex utilizes both gravity casting and hydraulic forging processes to ensure precision, followed by a sophisticated heat treatment cycle to refine the material structure for maximum durability.

Every piston is finished using precision CNC machining and high-tech diamond tooling, ensuring exact tolerances and optimal surface finishes. To enhance longevity and performance, these pistons feature a specialized Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating designed to assist in the break-in process while significantly reducing internal friction.

Furthermore, these components include an advanced phosphate coating. Inspired by Formula One engine technology, this layer provides a slight increase in surface hardness and introduces light surface porosity. This design offers superior adhesion for the Molybdenum coating, resulting in a more durable finish that stands up to intense engine cycles.
