KTM SX 144 / 150 2007-2015 GRADE D 55.98mm
Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminium alloys with 12%, 18% or 21% silicon, depending on the application. Pistons are made using gravity casting or hydraulic forging, followed by a heat treatment process. Machining is done with CNC machines and diamond tools for specific surface finishes. Each piston undergoes manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons have a Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction, and a new Phosphate Coating for increased hardness, surface porosity, and extended durability.
