KTM SX 144 / 150 2007-2015 GRADE B 55.96mm
Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminium alloys with 12%, 18%, or 21% silicon content depending on the application. They are produced using gravity casting or hydraulic forging, followed by a heat treatment process in an automatic HT implant with solubilization by quenching in hot water. Machining is performed using the latest CNC machines and diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Every Vertex piston undergoes manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons are coated with Molybdenum Bisulphite for break-in and friction reduction, and some feature a new Phosphate Coating for increased hardness, surface porosity, and extended coating durability. Advanced Engineering and Surface Protection
Every Vertex piston is crafted using state-of-the-art CNC machining and diamond tooling to ensure exact tolerances and optimal surface finishes. To enhance engine longevity, this piston features a specialized Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating, which facilitates a smoother break-in period and reduces internal friction during operation.
This model also incorporates a high-tech Phosphate coating. Inspired by developments in Formula One technology, this coating adds a layer of hardness and surface porosity that improves the adhesion of the Molybdenum coating, effectively doubling the lifespan of the protective finish.
