Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminium alloys with 12%, 18%, or 21% silicon content depending on the application. They are produced using gravity cast or hydraulic forging processes, followed by heat treatment in an automatic HT implant with solubilization by quench in hot water. Machining is performed on the latest CNC machines using diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Each Vertex piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons are coated with Molybdenum Bisulphite for break-in and friction reduction, and a new Phosphate Coating offers increased hardness and surface porosity for superior Molybdenum Coating adhesion and durability. This is a GRADE C 54.21mm DOME TOP piston.
