Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex Silicon aluminium alloys (12%, 18%, or 21% depending on application) via gravity cast or hydraulic forging. Blank parts undergo heat treatment using a Hi-Tech automatic HT implant with solubilization by quench in hot water. Machining is completed using the latest CNC machines and software with diamond tools, achieving specific surface finishes. Every Vertex piston passes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. Pistons are coated with Molybdenum Bisulphite for break-in and friction reduction, or a newer Phosphate Coating for increased hardness, light surface porosity, and superior Molybdenum Coating adhesion, doubling coating durability. This specific piston is 54.20mm flat top.
