Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminium alloys with 12%, 18% or 21% silicon content depending on the application. Pistons are made using gravity cast or hydraulic forging, with blanks refined through a hi-tech heat treatment process. Machining is completed using the latest CNC machines and diamond tools, achieving specific surface finishes. Every Vertex piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. Pistons are coated with Molybdenum Bisulphite for break-in and friction reduction. Vertex also offers a Phosphate Coating with increased hardness and superior adhesion qualities for extended durability. This piston is Grade A, 95.96mm, with 13.2:1 compression.
