KAWASAKI KXF 450 2006-2008 GRADE B 95.97mm HIGH COMPRESSION 13.0:1
Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminium alloys with 12%, 18%, or 21% silicon content depending on the application. They are produced using gravity cast or hydraulic forging, followed by a heat treatment process with solubilization by quench in hot water. Machining is done using the latest CNC machines and diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Each piston undergoes manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons feature a Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction, and a new Phosphate Coating for increased hardness, surface porosity, and superior adhesion of the Molybdenum Coating. Bore size is 95.97mm with a 13.0:1 compression ratio.

FULL DESCRIPTION
Vertex High Compression Piston
The Vertex High Compression Piston is engineered to deliver superior engine performance and reliability. Manufactured using advanced Low-Ex silicon-charged aluminum alloys, these pistons are designed to withstand the rigorous demands of high-performance internal combustion engines. This particular unit features a 95.97mm bore and a 13.0:1 compression ratio, providing an efficient increase in power output.
Advanced Manufacturing and Material Technology
Vertex utilizes either gravity casting or hydraulic forging processes to create the initial piston blank. This structural integrity is further enhanced through a cutting-edge, automated heat treatment process involving solubilization and hot water quenching. Precision machining is achieved through the use of state-of-the-art CNC technology and diamond tooling to ensure exact surface finishes tailored to specific engine requirements.
Engineered for Durability and Reduced Friction
Each piston is finished with a specialized Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating, which assists in the break-in process and significantly reduces internal friction. To further extend service life, these pistons incorporate an advanced phosphate coating. Inspired by Formula One engine development, this phosphate layer increases surface hardness and provides a light porosity that ensures superior adhesion of the Molybdenum coating, resulting in twice the coating durability of standard options.
