Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminium alloys with 12%, 18%, or 21% silicon content depending on the application. They are produced using gravity casting or hydraulic forging, followed by a high-tech heat treatment process with solubilization by quench in hot water. Machining is performed on the latest CNC machines using diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes. Each piston undergoes rigorous manual and automatic quality control. Vertex pistons feature a black Molybdenum Bisulphite coating to aid break-in and reduce friction. They also incorporate a new Phosphate Coating, offering increased hardness and improved adhesion of the Molybdenum Coating for extended durability. This piston has a 76.97mm bore and a 14.3:1 compression ratio.
