Pistons are produced using gravity casting or hydraulic forging, followed by heat treatment in an automatic HT implant with solubilization by quench in hot water. Each Vertex piston undergoes a rigorous manual and automatic quality control process. Vertex pistons feature a special Molybdenum Bisulphite black coating for break-in and friction reduction, and a new Phosphate Coating for increased hardness, light surface porosity, and superior adhesion, extending coating durability. This piston has a compression ratio of 13.8:1 and a bore of 76.96mm.
