Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminium alloys with 12%, 18% or 21% silicon content. Pistons are made using gravity cast or hydraulic forging processes, then refined with heat treatment. Machining is performed with the latest CNC machines and diamond tools, achieving specific surface finishes for each application. Each Vertex piston undergoes manual and automatic quality control. Pistons are coated with a black Molybdenum Bisulphite coating for break-in and friction reduction. A new Phosphate Coating is also available, offering increased hardness, surface porosity, and superior adhesion for extended durability. This piston has a bore size of 76.98mm and a compression ratio of 13.2:1.
