Vertex pistons are manufactured using Low-Ex aluminum alloys with 12%, 18%, or 21% silicon content. Pistons are produced using gravity cast or hydraulic forging processes, followed by heat treatment for material refinement. Machining is performed using CNC machines and diamond tools to achieve specific surface finishes for each application. Every Vertex piston undergoes a thorough quality control process. Pistons are coated with a black Molybdenum Bisulphite coating for break-in and friction reduction. A new Phosphate Coating is also available, offering increased hardness, surface porosity, and superior adhesion and durability of the Molybdenum Coating. This piston has a 76.97mm bore size, a high compression ratio of 13.9:1, and is Grade C.
